PULLING HEADS & BEND RESTRICTORS

SUBSEA Accessories for cables, flexible risers and umbilicals

Tekflow designs and manufactures a large range of offshore accessories for cables, flexible risers and umbilicals like Steel Vertebrae Bend Restrictors, Pulling Heads, End-Fittings, Electrical Connectors subsea, etc.

Our engineering department design offshore accessories following the international standards  ASME, API, DNV OS F101 and other design codes. Non-standard accessories can be customized to meet customer’s specifications. Design and calculation activities are performed through SOLIDWORKS and ANSYS softwares.

PULLING HEADS

Tekflow designs and manufactures standards and non-standard pulling heads engineered to provide lifting points for flexibles during pull in operations and installation activities. Different Interfaces (API, ASME, NORSOK, GRAYLOC®) and materials (Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Duplex, Super Duplex and others) can be proposed. Their mission is to connect the flexible pipe end fitting to a pull-in wire, consisting of structure that connects to end-fitting and a connection that interfaces with lifting equipment.

BEND RESTRICTORS / STEEL VERTEBRAE BEND RESTRICTORS

Tekflow has a large experience manufacturing steel made Bend Restrictors that are designed to work under heavy loads on severe environment conditions. Our testing equipment can be used to qualify bend restrictor according customer requirements. We can perform bending radius measurement and load tests (under bending moment or axial load).

A bend restrictor is an assembly installed around umbilicals or flexibles to prevent damage from cable’s overbending. Each cable, umbilical or flexible has a minimum bending radius, below which the cable can be severely damaged and become unusable for operation. Bend restrictors are made up of a number of interlocking elements which react when subjected to an external load, locking together to form a smooth curved radius. This radius is chosen to be equal to or greater than the minimum bend radius of the cable to be protected.
